Picosun announces cooperation agreement with Prof. Winter of Wayne State University
Picosun has entered into an agreement of cooperation with Professor Charles H. Winter of Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, USA. Professor Winter’s laboratory has been active in the field of design and synthesis of new precursor compounds for thin film growth since the early 1990s. In recent years, he has turned his attention to process development for atomic layer deposition (ALD), with a focus on both novel precursor chemistry and new routes to challenging thin film materials. Professor Winter was promoted to Full Professor of Chemistry in 1998, and has served as the Associate Chair of the Chemistry Department at Wayne State since 2001.
Professor Winter has recently purchased two SUNALE™ R-75B ALD reactors manufactured by Picosun. Both reactors are equipped with an advanced Picosolid™ Booster precursor delivery system, which will make possible the use of a variety of low volatility solid and liquid precursors. Also, one reactor features a load-lock system capable of limiting air exposure of the ALD-treated samples.
"I fully anticipate being able to investigate many new and exciting ALD processes over the next few years using the Picosun tools. In particular, I expect the Picosolid™ Booster systems to facilitate the delivery of new precursors that would likely be unattainable using competing ALD systems. The cooperation agreement with Picosun reflects this belief." commented Professor Winter.
